I just listened to the Richard Dawkins interview from To the Best of Our Knowledge. He seems to be doing a blitz of radio programs. Given the way these things work, he’s probably doing a bunch of interviews for papers as well. It’s great. As I finished listening to it I couldn’t help thinking about how refreshing it is to hear someone like him on the subject of Atheism. It doesn’t hurt that he sounds completely harmless on the radio. He also sounds calm. That means he can say things that would otherwise not go over well. This works well with the way he writes, which is often fierier than his spoken statements.
