A death in the family (nothing surprising) leaves me checking for flights to get to the memorial service in London, Ontario. I don’t think it’s happening. Even if I could find flights for the right days, at a price I could afford, they all have me flying back 49 minutes after the memorial service starts. For some reason it seems to all be 2 stop flights. London -> Detroit -> D.C. (?) -> Minneapolis, because, you know, that makes sense… Is there really nothing going from Detroit to Minneapolis that day?

On a related note, my employer has a fairly fucked up way of determining bereavement days. I get one for this, which combines with the fact that I work Friday to Monday to make this pretty well impossible.
